Otherworld MUD is a game that I have played for many years. It is a telnet based game, which is pretty overwhelming in complexity and underwhelming in game graphics, since there isn't any actual graphics to speak of, it is all text based. So if you have ever wanted to play a RPG that involves a lot of reading, advanced options and complexity to get around, this type of game is for you. I can't really say much about it in general since there isn't actually a story. Each zone/area you enter has its own thing going on which you have to read the area text in order to get a feel for it. You make a character, you fight creatures, you level up, gain skills/spells, just like any other RPG except it is all command driven. So if you want to cast a spell, you must type, cast 'spell' target. Very old school and very fun. Otherworld MUD has been around since 1996 I believe I began playing it in 1998.
To play connect via telnet client, such as Mudlet and use the address tirnaill.com port 4000.
I give it 5/5 arbitrary nostalgia points since this game will always occupy a warm place in my heart.
