BBTB: Contra (NES)

Contra is a classic bullet hell game on the NES. I remember the first time I played this game, it seemed so extreme. So much going on at once, you and another player fighting wave upon wave of enemy combatants, then finally a boss fight at the end of each level.
The game is hard with the amount of lives that you have in a normal play through, which is why the now famous Konami code was practically a necessity. Once you enter the code you would then have 30 lives, which makes playing through the whole game so much easier but also soooo fun. I recommend anyone that hasn't played this game to give it a try, it obviously will seem rather retro since it is over 30 years old, but hey retro is in nowadays anyway, right?
I give this game a 4.8 out of 5 arbitrary points. Play it, live it, love it!
