Final Fantasy XV is the latest Final Fantasy game in the franchise released by Square Enix. I am reviewing the PC version of the game. I have had years of experience playing Final Fantasy games, all the way back in 1987 or 1988, not really sure, when I got Final Fantasy for NES.
This game is a far cry from that one, they both are open world games and they both have four main characters you play as, but the similarities end about there. You play as a young prince Noctis and his entourage of bros that follow and protect him. Yes, this game at first is just a group of bros cruising around in their awesome car, until things get serious that is. While the young prince is off to meet up with his bride to be, his kingdom is assaulted and his father is killed, this sets off a chain of events which cause Noctis to pursue the weapon spirits of his ancestors along with the titan powers you gathers along the way in order to defeat the person pulling the strings in the background.
This game features a sprawling game world in which to explore, hundreds of quests and challenge quests which have a time frame, tons of hidden things to find, epic large boss encounters (like the size of a mountain), and of course the bros themselves. The game cruises along at a fair pace but the main story putters out towards the end, it has a rushed, incomplete feeling to it. The open world aspect also allows you to get yourself in trouble by wandering into a much greater level fight than you can handle. All and all though it is a great game with great graphics and tons of things to do. If you are a fan of the Final Fantasy series I recommend this one.
I rate this a solid 4/5 arbitrary points. Story is lacking a bit and some flaws in the gameplay, but still worth a play through.
